Burdened For My Babies
Do you ever sit and wonder how in the world you actually got to the place you are at, with little ones running around calling you "Mom"? In so many ways, I still feel like a child myself and it scares me to think that these precious ones rely on me for their every need. When I focus on the fact that it is I who will be their example of how to respond to all that life brings, I am literally terrified. With me as their example, I wonder that they ever have good attitudes about anything. Everyday, I am realizing more and more how incapable I am of raising my kids to be decent and responsible adults for Christ. But then I realize that, I am exactly where I need to be. At a point of utter helplessness. I can't do it.
Isaiah 54:13 "All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children."
Guess who teaches my children??? The Lord himself does! One of the things that I have been praying for my kids is that they will learn to recognize God's voice and hear and respond to Him. As I have been thinking about this truth, it has taken such a burden off of me to know that regardless of how I fail, the Lord teaches and speaks to my children. I know that He will never fail or be a bad example.
Please pray with me for our children. Pray that they will know the Lord, not just know about Him. Pray that I will show Jesus to them in every situation, no matter how stressful or frustrating it may be.

Amen, friend! God is doing something amazing in our kids and we get to be a part of it. But it doesn't depend on us!
